The work mixes modes of representation and appropriated ready-made motifs from the worlds of film, music and popular culture. The process for making the artwork is often directly synchronized with the practice of music-making. Selected images, like sounds are deployed and arranged ‘spatially’ to create a visual-combo. The spontaneous elements come into play during the painting, dripping, zooming, melting and layering of the images. The connections do not seem forced, so much as nearly random, underpinning a passion for the process of improvised music. This augmentation enables new possibilities to occur, producing unique visual-hybrids and re-contextualising the original source material from it’s place of origin.
